Yoga has rightfully conquered the world.
Ellgurds' yoga is based on the many months of training in the country of origin : INDIA.

Since 2005, we have travelled regularly to RISHIKESH,

The holy city of yoga at the foothills of the Himalayas.

Many students have joined us on this transformative journey.

An authentic immersion into traditional Indian yoga.

Together, we continue to grow.

Contact us for details about the next yoga retreat in India.

Savasana – Corpse Pose (Deep Relaxation)

At any moment during your practice, you may gently lie down on the floor:

On your back, legs slightly apart, palms facing upward.

savasana

Whenever you feel “This is too intense,” “I feel lightheaded,” or simply when it feels right, you can choose to rest.

In yoga, rest is as important as effort.

We aim to balance both equally.

Mantra Chanting – Focus, Sound & Awareness

To stay awake while focusing the mind on a single point, we chant mantras.

Repeating sacred sounds naturally reduces mental activity and brings clarity.

We inhale deeply so the vibrations can flow freely.

Chanting is a form of expression, just like speaking — but with deeper resonance.

Most mantras are in SANSKRIT, and their syllables correspond to specific parts of the body.

The deities invoked represent universal principles rather than literal gods.

For example, Shiva symbolizes transformation and the removal of old patterns.

To create something new, the old must first be released —

Which makes Shiva a powerful symbol for yoga itself.

Shiva, Shiva, Shiva Shamboo – Maha Deva Shamboo

SHiva
Padme

Buddhist Mantra – Om Mani Padme Hum

The Padme, or waterlily, symbolizes awakening, opening, and turning toward the purest inner light — your soul.

Om mani padme hum

Krishna Consciousness – Heart Awareness

Krishna consciousness corresponds to heart consciousness.

It shares much with Christ consciousness.

No complex formulas or postures are required.

We surrender to devotion and naturally find balance between head and belly.

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare

Hare Ram Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare

Krishna
Rama sita

Rama & Sita – Balance of Masculine and Feminine

Jai Ram, Sri Ram, Jay Jay Ram

Sita Ram Sita Ram Sita Ram Sita Ram

Rama and Krishna are expressions of Vishnu, the preserver of balance.

This mantra brings awareness to the heart and symbolizes harmony between masculine and feminine —

Sita and Ram, the legendary couple from the Ramayana.

Ganga Ma – The Divine Feminine

Om Ganga Ma, Ganga Ma, Ganga Mai Mai

This mantra connects us to the feminine aspect within ourselves.

Ganga is the mother goddess, personified as the sacred river that nourishes India.

We also chant mantras for Lakshmi Ma, Saraswati Ma, Kali Ma and Rukmini.

Om Namo Bhagavate Rukmini Valabaye Swaha

Guru Mantra – Honoring the Teacher

A mantra dedicated to the ultimate teacher who reveals truth.

Hare Om Tat Sat Jaya Guru Datta

Asana – Yoga Postures for Strength & Balance

By placing the body in a specific posture, we stretch or strengthen targeted areas.

As the resistance to gravity shifts, a new kind of balance emerges.

This path of balance is an energy channel — a nadi.

Each asana has a clear purpose.

We practice gently, resting as much as we exert.

Never force — stay within your limits.

Maha mudra

MAHAMUDRA, the great posture, is considered the most important in Kriya Yoga and is accessible to most practitioners.

Pranayama – Breathwork for Heart & Mind

Breathwork has become popular worldwide — and for good reason.

Breathing happens in the chest, the heart region.

It is a direct bridge between our inner world and the outer world.

Breathing can be automatic or consciously guided.

The breath is the key to the heart and to maintaining balance.

Because pranayama has such a powerful effect, it must be practiced with care.

Seek guidance from a qualified teacher.

KAPALABHATI – Cleansing Breath

Used primarily to cleanse the lungs.

The focus is on a strong exhalation that pushes out stale air.

Inhalation happens naturally through relaxation.

NADI SODHANA – Alternate Nostril Breathing

We close one nostril and inhale through the other, imagining that side of the body filling with air and light.

Left and right alternate.

This practice balances our sun (Surya) and moon (Chandra) energies.

Surya Namaskar – Sun Salutation Sequence

Modern life has a fast rhythm.

To meet this pace, yoga developed flowing sequences

A series of postures that awaken the entire body.

A beautiful way to start the day with energy and clarity.

Meditation – Returning to Inner Balance

When everything aligns — balance between ourselves and the world, between softness and strength —

Duality dissolves.

Teachers – Traditional Yoga Lineage

Om Namah Shivaya.

Honor to all Indian gods and goddesses.

Yoga is a multifaceted system that everyone can approach in their own way.
