ARGENTIN
TANGO
Two people holding balance,
the sound of the bandeon,
shyly, passionated, floating over the dancefloor.
Classes are taught in groups of 5 couples.
A full course of 10 classes costs €200 per couple.
The focus lies on dancing together with ease and relaxation, and on posture (postura).
Sunday evenings at 8:00 PM – Antwerp
OUR VISION
For us, tango is not a rigid ballroom discipline with sharp head movements or imposed postures.
We start from something else entirely: gentle contact, a strong personal center, and authentic shared movement.
In our classes, each dancer stands firmly in their own center — grounded through the legs, centered in the belly, and open in the heart.
From this stability, partners reach out to one another — not to lead or follow in the classical sense, but to discover a shared center.
That is where the dance begins.
We also integrate principles from the other disciplines taught at our school, such as meditation and tai chi.
In this way, tango becomes a meeting from heart to heart, where both partners remain true to themselves, respect each other, and create flowing, natural movement together.
No tension, no performance — just a dance that arises from connection, softness, and presence.
TEACHERS
Elly and Sigurd began dancing tango in 2002.
In 2008, they immersed themselves deeply in tango studies in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and have been teaching their own classes since then.
After a pause of several years from teaching group classes, we now feel deeply inspired to return.
Years of attuning to one another, growing together, and knowing exactly how to move with each other in the unique moment on the dance floor — this lived experience flows into this new series.
We hope to accompany everyone who joins this course in the art of moving together.
For former students, for couples wishing to reconnect, and for anyone curious to discover this soft, conscious approach to tango:
you are warmly welcome.
